We are Darussafaka High School’s robotics team Sultans of Turkiye, known as the first FIRST Robotics Competition team in Turkey. FIRST Robotics Competition is the biggest high school leveled international robotics competition in the world. The aim of the competition is to build a proper robot according to the theme that is announced on the first week of January. In addition to this, within the motto “More Than Robots”, teams are expected to create social responsibility projects and spread STEM by encouraging people. Teams who attended regional competitions and won prestigious awards are qualified for that year’s FIRST Championship with more than 400 teams attending. The championship is organized in Houston, Texas.
As Sultans of Turkiye, during the year, we have released the first NFT collection, The Tool Bag, that is owned by a high school leveled robotics team. We have also taken roles in STEM areas to encourage women to take part and blend in, embodied our school’s mission “Creating Equality in Education” and spreaded our knowledge all around the world within our 14 years of experience. In 2018, we created our helping platform FIRST Help to help other teams with materials in need and for the questions they have in mind. Also reached more than 57 million people by creating an international impact with our AI-Generated FIRST Robotics Competition’s 2019 field simulation game. In 2022, our team won the Engineering Inspiration Award which is one of the most prestigious awards in the competition. Thus we qualified for the FIRST Championship held between 20-23 April 2022. By attending the world championship, we competed with more than 400 teams that even had NASA as their sponsor and won the Engineering Inspiration Award. We are now pre-qualified for the 2023 FIRST Championship and proud to be able to represent our country at the championship!
