Military operation of the Russian Federation in Syria (since September 2015) - almost half a million civilians died and more than half of the population - 12 million citizens - were forced to leave their homes. Currently, 90% of Syrians live below the poverty line. 5. War in Ukraine (from 04.2014 to 02.2023) – the total number of human losses related to Russia's war in Ukraine is about 42.5 thousand - 44.5 thousand people data as of the end of June 2021. Civilian casualties from February 24, 2022, after Russia began the active phase of the war against Ukraine, to March 5, 2023 amounted to 21,793 civilians. At present, total losses among the civilian population of Ukraine are estimated at approximately 70,000 people, among the victims are many women and children. Most of the people died as a result of Russian missile attacks on the civilian infrastructure of Ukraine. On March 17, 2023, the Second Pre-Trial Chamber of the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for two persons in the context of the situation in Ukraine: Volodymyr Volodymyrovych Putin and Maria Oleksiivna Lvova-Belova for the forcible removal of Ukrainian children to Russia.
