A large OpenFlow painting PP49-THE BALLERINA of the series Presence painting Season 7 - made during an artistic performance painting with a model in London. This large painting is part of the presence painting performance*.
This painting is inspired by a dancer James invited to his Cadogan Lane studio in London (near Sloan Square). She was dressed in black leather, her silhouette contrasting with the raw side of the workshop. The « ballerina» was sophisticated, bright and full of energy.
*James creates an artistic performance called Presence Painting Performance (3P). It’s an augmented portrait, a disruptive and abstract form of representation, to catch the presence of a person At each performance session James invites a new person-model whose presence inspires him. The masterpiece is the Matrix XL painting. Since 2005, he has produced 70 unique artistic performances.
