"Air" is actually a mash-up of my watercolor art and photography. The image in the falcon's eye is a recreation of a photograph I took in Long Island City, New York of the skyline during golden hour. I decided to replicate that photograph using watercolor and pencil in the reflection of the falcon's eye as if the falcon was seeing it. As the sky changes color, the sky behind the falcon is also changing too, as if the falcon is positioned already against the darkening sky. The falcon is watching the light of the past, while the bird is in the present, watching time actively pass.
Medium: Watercolor, acrylic, pencil.
