Melon de Bourgogne is an old Burgundian variety where it was once widely grown. It is the grape of the popular Muscadet wines in the Loire Valley. These grapes were farmed organically with a lot of love. It does well in cooler production areas and coastal regions. At one time, this variety was misidentified in California as Pinot blanc. Racy, crisp, driven by acidity and minerality. Mmmm mmm. Whose got some oysters?
