Hashdalas is the first NFT collection from Tidswell Studios, a multi-media production house based in Vancouver,BC, Canada. Photographer//Animator/Musician Brad Tidswell has captured a mountain of visual content over the last three decades, which he has been transforming using digital tools. Now, using block-chain technology, with the computers doing the Hashing, you can own a piece of the Tidswell journey. The idea of Quadro-Optic images first occurred to Tidswell while attending Emily Carr Art College in the Animation Program. After hours he would project onto the front window of an old Broadway Optometrist office which he and his art-school friends renamed Opto-Trist. He was working with slide dissolve racks that included four slide projectors. Each slide was duplicated into 4 copies then loaded into the 4 projectors and rotated 45 degrees. Then the projectors were aimed at the same spot and animated in sequence using the dissolves. Years later, Tidswell found he could recreate the effect digitally as a way to make art , while on tour, from the surroundings. The core images are from a varied life on the road as a musician and artist and were usually chosen for their initial abstract quality. The Quadro-Optic process further abstracts the images. Then in some rare cases, further abstraction is achieved using After Effects and other visuals programs. The studio has been busy creating several NFT collections to be released in 2022.
